APPLICATION AND USE
Rolling Storm 4.5” Grilles as manufactured by Alpine Overhead Doors, Inc. These doors offer security and protection as well as the ability to visually observe what is behind the door when it is fully closed. Ideal for Storefronts,
Office Windows, Loading Docks, Hurricane Protection, Malls, Display Cases
and Shopping Centers.

GENERAL
Opening preparation, miscellaneous or structural metal work, access doors,
finish or field painting, field electrical wiring, wire, conduit, fuses and disconnect
switches are in the Scope of Work of other divisons or trades.

CURTAIN
Curtain construction will consist of Alpine’s Straight Lattice 4.5” Pattern, with
all exposed material to be aluminum. The continuous horizontal rods, spaced 2” o.c., are covered with tubular spacers that are 5/16” solid. Continuous end links are designed to prevent the curtain from leaving the side of the guide rails. The bottom of the grille is provided with an extruded aluminum “T” bottom bar.

BRACKET
Steel plate not less than 1/4” thick with ball bearings at rotating support points. The plate supports the counterbalance assembly and forms an end enclosure.

GUIDES
Guides are designed using roll formed angles with a minimum thickness of 3/16”, expansion slotted connections, and removable bellmount curtain stops to allow for curtain maintenance without removal of the guides. Bellmount stops shall be flush with the guide groove.

COUNTERBALANCE ASSEMBY
Adjustable helical torsion springs encased in a pipe barrel or a steel tube. Life cycle available in 7.5M, 10M, 15M, 17.5M thru 400M.

WINDLOCKS
Ductile cast iron, hot-dipped, galvanized windlocks are riveted to each end of
each slat with 1/4” rivets which prevents the curtain from leaving the guide
rails.

OPERATION
Push-up, hand chain, hand-crank, or motor operation available. For optional
features see the motor operators section in this catalog.

HOOD GALVANIZED (OPTION: Square, Hexagon or Round)

LOCKING
Provide padlockable slide locks for latching and locking the door on the coil side of the bottom bar. Electric Interlocks recommended with motorized doors.
