Alpine® Hurricane Doors

Windload Engineered Overhead Doors

Model Description

Alpine's Redi-Storm is constructed to withstand powerful windstorms while retaining the functions of a normal service door. After hurricane Andrew devastated Florida in 1992, Metro-Dade County modified its building codes to increase protection from windstorms. The Alpine Redi-Storm's design complies with these strict guidelines, creating a Dade County Approved door that is capable of withstanding 187 mph winds. Alpine representatives will assist you in designing your door to fit your specific wind load needs.

Alpine’s Redi-Storm IMB has all the same features as the Redi-Storm with the addition of Insulated Metal Back slats. The IMB slats reduce noise and thermal transmission while the overall construction resists windstorms to combine for a highly protected entrance.

Alpine’s Fire-Storm is a combination of the features of Alpine's Redi-Storm and Fire-Tite models. It is Dade County Approved for high windloads (up to 187 mph) as well as UL, FM, and MEA approved for fire protection. It comes in galvanized or stainless steel and in a variety of different finishes.

Alpine’s Fire-Storm IMB V7 has the same features as the standard Fire-Storm with the addition of IMB V7 slats for sound and thermal insulation.

Alpine’s Storm Grille has all the features of the Mall Dawn and is specifically constructed to withstand high windloads. Windstorms can cause large objects to obstruct the grilles, creating a large amount of pressure. The Storm Grille is capable of withstanding such pressure, thereby preserving the door and protecting the building. It is available in a number of finishes and colors.
