Alpine Overhead Doors, Inc., a leading manufacturer of rolling overhead doors, is proud to announce the release of the upgraded Insulated Plastic Back (IPB) slat door, known as Insul-Sound®.
The IPB slat, which consists of a metal slat and PVC extruded backing, has been redesigned to deliver enhanced thermal insulation and noise suppression. It boasts an STC of 30 and R-Value of 8. Further, Alpine’s patented dual density design with flexible fins and rigid PVC provides and maintains a consistent airtight seal between slats. These improved sealed surfaces provide increased air gap isolation.
The slat extrusions are made from virgin PVC which delivers better durability and quality when compared to recycled alternatives. They are now manufactured to tighter tolerances, further enhancing sound and thermal insulation properties.
Additionally, the Insul-Sound® door features header and guide brush seals for improved insulation when compared to standard weather stripping. For enhanced protection and style, the metal slat can be powder coated in hundreds of standard and custom RAL colors.
