Hurricane & FEMA Rated Storm Doors
Alpine Overhead Doors manufacturers Redi-Storm® and Fire-Storm® Hurricane and FEMA rated Doors (ICC 500-2014 and FEMA P-361), which are tested and approved for stringent Miami Dade County and FBC wind-load requirements. These hurricane rated roll up storm doors have also been impact tested in order to minimize damage from flying debris caused by hurricanes and tornadoes, and help withstand seismic shocks caused by earthquakes. Several models of our rolling overhead storm doors are UL approved as noted below.

Alpine’s Redi-Storm® is a high windload wind rated overhead door, designed specifically for hurricanes, tornadoes and crucial wind protection. The Redi-Storm® wind rated tornado doors are constructed to withstand powerful windstorms while retaining the functions of a normal service door. After hurricane Andrew devastated Florida in 1992, Metro-Dade County modified its building codes to increase protection from windstorms. The Alpine Redi-Storm®’s design for rolling hurricane doors complies with these strict guidelines. This creates a Dade County approved wind rated overhead door that is capable of withstanding 187 mph winds. Alpine representatives will assist you in designing your roll up storm doors to fit your specific wind load needs
Alpine’s Fire-Storm® is a combination of the features of Alpine’s Redi-Storm® and Fire-Tite® models. It is Dade County approved for high wind loads (up to 153 mph) as well as UL, FM, and MEA approved for fire protection. These coiling fire doors come in galvanized or stainless steel and in a variety of different finishes.
Alpine’s Smoke Fire-Storm® fire rated coiling fire doors have all the features of the Fire-Storm® with the addition of an “S” rating for smoke leakage. The Smoke Fire-Storm® steel fire door utilizes a vinyl smoke seal on the bottom bar, brush seals on the structural steel guides and lintel to stop the movement of smoke through the roll up fire door.
Alpine’s Auto-Smoke Fire-Storm smoke rated door has all the features of the coiling Fire-Storm® with the addition of an”S” rating for smoke leakage. The roll down Smoke Fire-Shut® utilizes a vinyl smoke seal on the bottom bar, brush seals on the guides and lintel to stop the movement of smoke through the door.
Alpine’s Redi-Storm® IMB has all the same features as the hurricane overhead door, Redi-Storm®, with the addition of Insulated Metal Back slats. The IMB slats reduce noise and thermal transmission while the overall construction resists windstorms to combine for a highly protected entrance.
Alpine’s Fire-Storm® IMB has the same features as the standard Fire-Storm, flat slat doors with the addition of IMB slats for sound and thermal insulation. These rolling fire doors help keep out the cold and heat. The hurricane fire door is strong in a storm.
Alpine’s Smoke Fire-Storm® IMB smoke rated door has all the features of the Fire-Storm® Door with the addition of an “S” rating for smoke leakage. The Fire-Storm® Door utilizes a vinyl smoke seal on the bottom bar, brush seals on the guides and lintel to stop the movement of smoke through the overhead high-speed doors. These steel doors help prevent property damage and smoke risks.
Alpine’s Auto-Smoke Fire-Storm® IMB smoke rated door has all the features of the Auto-Smoke Fire-Storm® flat door with the addition of insulated metal backed slats that are 7/8” inch thick slats with an R-Value: 5.0 (U-factor of 0.125) calculated using the ASHRAE Handbook of Fundamentals.
Alpine’s Auto-Fire-Storm® has the same features as the Fire-Storm® with the addition of either a RediReset (Models FS, NFS, FDC, or FDCL) or Redi-Reset II operator.
Alpine’s FEMA-TITE Tornado / Hurricane Doors – Designed, tested and certified as ICC 500-2014/FEMA P-361 rated doors resists flying debris caused by extreme winds including hurricanes and tornadoes. They feature an R-value of 9.00/U-factor of 111 with a thermal break on each slat.
